A Guangcai Porcelain 'Great Fortune and Wealth' Tea Set

The theme of rooster, bok choy, flowers and plants means great fortune and good luck. In the ancient text Han Shi Waizhuan from the Eastern Han dynasty, the rooster is described as a bird of five virtues, which is well-educated, well-trained in military, righteous, faithful and courageous. The artisan used super white clay to craft the porcelain bowls. The bowls were fired at 1380°C, and hand-painted with guangcai mineral paints and traditional techniques, then refired at 810°C for three more times.

以雞、白菜、花草為題材，寓意發財大吉、萬事如意。古謂雞為「五德之禽」，兼納文、武、義、信、勇。《韓詩外傳》曰：「頭戴冠者，文也；足傅距者，武也；敵在前敢鬥者，勇也；見食相呼，仁也；守夜不失時，信也。」瓷碗選用高白泥為原料，由工匠巧手精作，經攝氏1380度高溫燒成白瓷後，用廣彩礦物顏料配以傳統技法手繪，再用攝氏810度低溫反覆燒三次而成。
