Product Information

The official’s hat-pot was a vessel for the Qing imperial official to rest his official headwear (similar in function to the hat rack). The Qing official headwear or hat had two wing-like flaps which must not be folded. It had to be held overhanging to maintain its proper shape, as the saying goes: “the footwear must not be on table tops, the headwear must not be on the ground”. The hat-pot aptly embodied this concept and also expressed the solemnness of the official hat. The painting on the vessel was the famous folk story “Yang Family Lady Generals”, showing Mu as a lady, had great courage and spirit.
