About Artist

Katherine Bernhardt (b. 1975, US) is a contemporary artist who lives and works in St. Louis. Her work takes the form of pattern paintings depicting a crowded array of everyday items that have been isolated from their original context. Often combined with nostalgic characters such as Garfield, Pink Panther or E.T, her brightly coloured canvases are a joyful testimony to her inner passions and personal obsessions. Bernhardt has had solo exhibitions at Contemporary Art Museum, St. Louis (2017) and Modern Art Museum, Fort Worth (2017). Her work is included in the collections of Hirshhorn Museum, Washington, DC and High Museum, Atlanta.
