Andrew Tanner’s work soon became to be some of the most recognizable products emerging from the craft and design scene. His brand Andrew Tanner Design was launched in 2002 to create a new partnership between traditional manufacturers and contemporary design.
Andrew Tanner has created bespoke collections for retail outlets and has successfully combined British Design and British Manufacture within his award winning ceramic and glass product ranges. Collections have been created for clients including Crabtree and Evelyn, who wanted to attract design conscious buyers to their products of fragrances and perfumes.
Andrew was awarded the Designer of the year award with IPC Media in 2005 and his collections were selected for the Elle Decoration Future Classics Award in 2008 whilst also being hailed as the next William Morris of his generation. His products can be found in retail outlets e.g. Paul Smith, The Museum of Modern Art, Donna Karin New York and The Royal Festival Hall, London.
To celebrate the 10th year of design in 2010 with a new journey, Andrew was introduced as the Head of Design for the historic and beautifully preserved pottery; Poole Pottery whilst also joining as Head of Design for the British ceramic manufactory Royal St afford.
The journey into celebrating design and British heritage continues on through 2012 as Andrew Tanner was awarded the Arts Council funding to produce design-led souvenirs for the 2012 Cultural Olympiad.
