“La Tonkinoise a Paris” is a brand of neo-vintage jewelry. Its designer, Chantal Manoukian, graduate of the Duperré Art School, began her career in 1991 as first assistant of Isabel Marant. After working for Lanvin and Babylone, she stayed 10 years or so at Kookaï as accessories designer. With “La Tonkinoise a Paris”, the point is to take up with her creative roots and with an “Art & craft” approach that is clearly out step with “mass production” work.
Each item of the collection is unique. Chantal uses antiques as well as more recent elements. She loves to give a second life to the rings, the bracelets, the brooches and the old watches found in Paris flea markets. By recycling the discarded, rejected jewels, Chantal has succeeded to create a new modern high-class jewelry.
